The Vancouver International Film Festival is running September 26th – October 6th.
The 2024 festival will feature more than 350 screenings, dozens of filmmaker Q&A’s, Talks with top creatives, live performances, artist and industry development programs, parties, and many more celebrations of film culture. Showcasing 150 features (including more than 70 premieres) and 81 shorts, VIFF 2024 is a festival of unrepeatable experiences. 102.7 THE PEAK is proud to present a special presentation of The Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsal. This event takes place for one-screening only on Sept. 28 at 6pm at the Vancouver Playhouse.
In celebration of The Tragically Hip’s 40th anniversary, the quintessential Canadian band is profiled in a docuseries helmed by Mike Downie, brother of the late frontman Gord Downie. VIFF is honoured to have Mike and The Hip join us for this special evening as we share the first two episodes of this definitive series, a love story between a band and the country they call home. This is a compelling document of four decades of hits and misses, friendship and frustration, triumph and tragedy. Following the screening, there will be a Q+A with Mike Downie.
