This is the second time NASA has transmitted a song into space. The first song ever transmitted into space was “Across The Universe” by The Beatles.
When asked why they wanted to transmit this particular Missy Elliott track into space NASA’s Director of Communications Brittany Brown elaborated saying “Missy has a track record of infusing space-centric storytelling and futuristic visuals in her music videos so the opportunity to collaborate on something out of this world is truly fitting,”.
