This just in from BC Parks:
Dear valued BC parks guest,
BC Parks is looking forward to opening our reservations and campgrounds to visitors for the 2021 camping season. However, it is still not quite business as usual and the COVID-19 pandemic continues to require BC Parks’ to adapt our policies. Below you will find important information relating to the 2021 season including opening dates, park occupancy guidelines, information on BC Parks refund policy, and more. Please review all details thoroughly to help ensure you are set up for a successful and healthy camping season.
Reservation Opening Dates
· Starting March 1, 2021 at 7am PT the Berg Lake Trail and Bowron Lake Canoe Circuit will be released for the entire 2021 season. The Berg Lake Trail and Bowron Lake Canoe Circuit are not on a rolling booking window and all inventory will be accessible on March 1 via the Discover Camping website (discovercamping.ca) and call centre (Toll Free in North America 1-800-689-9025).
· Starting March 8, 2021 at 7am PT the Discover Camping website and call centre will begin accepting frontcounty and backcountry reservations. Due to the ongoing pandemic Discover Camping will continue to allow bookings on a two-month rolling window. For example, on March 8, campers will be able to reserve arrival dates up to May 8; on March 9, arrival dates up to May 9 etc. Dates for later in the summer will not be available starting on March 8 due to the two-month rolling window and key holiday long weekends will only be available two-months in advance of each holiday, NOT on March 8.
Priority Access for British Columbians
· Due to the ongoing pandemic, British Columbians will be provided with priority access to camping reservations until July 7 – ensuring they have first access to the core season of reservations through to the end of summer. Starting July 8, non-residents of BC will be permitted to make reservations for any remaining arrival dates in the season, pending travel orders that may allow travel.
· For the purpose of accessing priority reservations, a BC resident is someone who resides in BC.
· Visitors will need to confirm they are a B.C. resident before booking a campsite.
· Non-residents of BC are still allowed in parks, as travel orders permit, whether for day-use, for first-come first-served camping, and for reservations made after July 7th. However, the message remains to stay close to home and avoid non-essential travel.
