Best Shows, Best Songs, and Best Albums of 2017
Best Live Shows of 2017:
Show of 2017 has to go to Arcade Fire for their Infinite Content barn burner at the Pacific Coliseum. I almost didn’t go to the show… probably because management hated me for accidentally spilling the beans about their new song [and my tweet that quickly went viral]. That was also definitely an item to throw on my highlight reel …
This year I finally got to see some bands that I’ve been waiting forever to catch live, like Beck, The Shins, John Mayer!, Flaming Lips, The XX and Coldplay [even bought our tickets a year in advance for that one].
Other favourite live shows go to Father John Misty at the Malkin Bowl on a hot summer night [<<< my number 2 favourite show of the year!].
We had over 21 PEAK Lounge Shows with our friends at Mill St Brewery this year – HOLY SCHMOKES!
Our PEAK Secret Show with Vance Joy at UBC and our Not So Silent Night with Dear Rouge and Bend Sinister, along with Metallica [my face hurt from laughing], Black Pistol Fire [HOLY CRAP they blew my heart apart], Oh Wonder, The National, Whitney on a rainy Monday night at The Biltmore, Thundercat, and surprisingly, The Weeknd.
