Meet your newest PEAK Artist of the Month – Dead Churches!
Founded by BC brothers Devin (guitar, vocals) and Eric (drums) Kyle, their unique approach blends the working-class lyricism of Americana and the massive bravado of 00’s rock, executed with the intensity of hardcore punk. Despite the burnout and exhaustion incubated from the grinding culture of Vancouver, Dead Churches have only picked up momentum.
Currently, they are working with producer and friend Steve Bays (Hot Hot Heat; Yukon Blonde) on multiple singles. DC have an EP and full-length album in the works with Producer Tim Creviston (Spiritbox; Misery Signals). They have released 3 singles off their debut EP since March 2025. “Royal Blue”, “Living Hell”, and “I’m Dead” define their sharp sound and bring a new voice to the musical landscape.
Simultaneously familiar and fresh, Dead Churches effortlessly wears many hats under the banner of rock n’ roll. Their influences include: The Killers, Bruce Springsteen, Sum 41, Green Day, Rancid, The Lumineers, My Chemical Romance, Social Distortion, Comeback Kid, Alkaline Trio, and The Gaslight Anthem.
Attracted by the film and music industry, the brothers found themselves in Vancouver. For years, they worked tirelessly on construction sites and film sets to support their dream. After recruiting childhood friend Bobby on guitar, they mined Craigslist for a keyboard player and a bassist. East Van local Carmine, on bass, brings a relentlessly optimistic energy, and classically trained Liz elevates the band’s sound.
Dead Churches channels the duality of life in Vancouver — where inspiration lives alongside instability.
After every rehearsal, they go to their favourite pho restaurant down the street.
