Gord Downie Memories On PEAK Mornings

We had a few artists call in to the show today to discuss what Gord Downie meant to them.

Jeremy Taggart, former drummer of Our Lady Peace and current host of the Taggart And Torrens Podcast, a podcast dedicated to Canadianity called in this morning to chat about Gord, and a band he looked up to…
“When I was in the band from day one, The Hip were the bar. Everything that The Tragically Hip did, we did and everything they didn’t do, we didn’t do.”

Max from Arkells called in as well to share some of the ways Gord Downie has influenced his life and music.
“Gord has us hanging on every word, so for me, it was very inspiring to know that if it’s packaged in the right way you can really say meaningful and interesting things in the world of popular music”

Jay AKA ‘Human Kebab’ from USS [UBIQUITOUS SYNERGY SEEKER] also gave us a ring from Japan and had this to say. “This is music that we all grew up with, and music that you’d hear at a cottage, out in Lake Ontario, or out in the woods in BC someone is blasting The Tragically Hip”
