#MeToo
I’d love to be in a world where I could meet ONE female who DOESN’T admit #MeToo. Unfortunately, I can’t say I know one who hasn’t been harassed or assaulted. It can feel incredibly difficult at times to be female, and truthfully I feel it often daily.
Brilliant guts are required to come forward, to speak up, to be vulnerable, and to seek solace in someone that makes you feel safe to share. The main reason it is beyond difficult is because most victims/humans will feel a grand amount of shame, guilt, and fear that they won’t always be given credit or be believed. And you won’t be. It’s uncomfortable for us to tackle these topics, but here we are.
To everyone that has posted #MeToo today, to everyone that has shared and has not shared, thank you for being part of this conversation and not accepting that this is the way it is. WE BELIEVE YOU and you haven’t done anything wrong. This is not a new way of humans being treated, but it is unfortunate how prevalent it is, and conversations like this are the first steps but we have many more to take.
