102.7 THE PEAK sends our love to those affected by the wild fires
British Columbia is in a state of emergency as wildfires burn across the province, primarily in the central and southern interior. Over 14,000 Canadians living in British Columbia have been forced from their homes. We have compiled a list of ways you can help those affected by the BC Wildfires.
How To Donate
The Canadian Red Cross is supporting the province of British Columbia and local authorities in providing assistance to those affected by the wildfires.
Your donation will help provide immediate relief such as cots, blankets, family reunification and financial assistance for food, clothing and personal needs. Beyond meeting immediate needs, your donation may also help re-entry and go towards more long-term recovery, resiliency and preparedness.
You can text FIRES to 45678 to donate $10 to the Canadian Red Cross BC Fires Appeal. Or visit Red Cross to donate online.
The BC SPCA has been forced to relocate at least 40 animals from shelters near active wildfires. Visit SPCA to donate and get help to animals that are affected by the wildfires.

Don’t Start A Wilfire!
About half of the fires reported in the province this year have been caused by humans, despite campfire bans and steeper penalties. A significant number of fires are simply the result of carelessness – campfires not properly extinguished, cigarettes thrown from cars. Please be careful.
