“Arcade Fire” CONTEST
RULES AND REGULATIONS
The “Arcade Fire” contest (the “Contest”) is open to legal to residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) who have attained the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence. Employees, officers, and directors (including immediate family members and members of the same household) of Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc. and CKPK FM, a division of The Jim Pattison Broadcast Group Limited Partnership (“JPBGLP”) (the “Sponsors”) and their respective distributors, dealers, marketing representatives, printers, advertising or promotional agencies, or any other organization associated with the Contest are not eligible to participate.
- How to Enter the Contest.
No purchase is necessary to enter. The Contest starts July, 31, 2017 at 6:00 a.m. Pacific Time (“PT”) and ends when a potential winner is declared but no later than 10:00 a.m. August 4, 2017 (the “Contest Period”). To enter the Contest, listen to PEAK Mornings with Tyler and Lynch between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. PT beginning July 31, 2017 for the cue-to-call the contest line at 604-280-1027. The caller being the correct caller through (i.e. the 9th caller), will be asked to play our rapid fire quiz game “Everything Now!” by answering correctly five questions asked by the on-air host. If the caller correctly answers all the questions, he/she will be declared the potential winner. If the caller fails to answer all questions correctly, the next caller will be given the opportunity to answer the questions. If no caller has correctly answered the questions on that particular day of the Contest Period, the Contest will continue the next day of the Contest Period and so on during the Contest Period until a potential winner is declared. If no caller has correctly answered the questions at the end of the Contest Period, the Sponsors reserve the right to modify the contest to enable a potential winner to be determined or to carry the prize over to a subsequent time or contest.
Callers shall be responsible for all long-distance charges or other fees associated with entering the Contest. All entries that are incomplete, illegible, damaged, irregular, have been submitted through illicit means, or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of these Contest rules and regulations may be disqualified. The Sponsors are not responsible for any lost, delayed, illegible, incomplete, misdirected, damaged, destroyed entries.
One (1) prize (the “Prize”) is to be awarded consisting of: two (2) tickets to see Arcade Fire in concert September 6, 2017 at Bell Centre in Montreal, PQ; return economy class airfare for two (2) people from Vancouver BC to Montreal PQ (departing Sept 5, 2017 and returning Sept 7, 2017); two (2) nights’ hotel in Montreal (one room, double occupancy); $100 value dinner voucher; two (2) tickets to see Arcade Fire in concert October 14, 2017 in Vancouver BC; and one (1) deluxe vinyl copy of the new album “Everything Now” (Approx. retail value of Prize is $2,620.00 (CAD).
- The Prize winner’s guest must be the age of majority in his/her jurisdiction of residence to participate in the Prize.
- The Prize winner and guest must travel between September 5 – 7, 2017 (the “Travel Period”). If the Prize winner is unable to travel during the Travel Period, he or she will forfeit the Prize, and another eligible Contest entrant will be selected.
- All transportation to and from the departure and arrival airports, other ground transportation except as otherwise specified herein, departure tax, insurance, fuel charges, travel related fees and items of a personal nature, including but not limited to food, beverages, room service, wine and bar charges, gratuities and local and long distance telephone calls, are the sole responsibility of the Prize winner and his or her guest.
- Prize winner and his or her guest must travel together on same itinerary.
- No change in travel arrangements can be made by the Prize winner once the booking has been confirmed.
- Sponsors reserve the right to change or cancel the booking and to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond their control.
- Travel and accommodations are subject to availability, blackout periods, government restrictions and regulations, hotel, airline, airport or other transportation restrictions and regulations.
- Sponsors are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to cancellation, changes or rescheduling of any dates and Sponsors reserve the right not to cover costs related to missed/delayed flights.
- A valid major credit card must be provided by the Prize winner or his or her guest for hotel check-in and incidentals
- It is recommended that the Prize winner and his or her guest obtain sufficient personal insurance prior to departure.
The Prize winner and his or her guest are solely responsible for all costs not expressly described herein as being included in the Prize. The Sponsors will not be responsible if weather conditions or other factors beyond the Sponsors’ reasonable control prevent a Prize or part of a Prize from being fulfilled. Further, the Sponsors assume no liability or responsibility whatsoever should a Prize winner or one of their respective guests be denied entry to the airline or concert venue for any reason whatsoever.
The Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a Prize in whole or in part for a prize of equal or greater value in the event that any component of a Prize is unavailable for any reason. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and no substitutions, except as identified above, will be made. Prizes may not be sold, transferred or assigned and are not convertible to cash.
- Selection of Winner
The odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible callers following the cue-to-call. In order to be declared a winner, the potential winner must unaided correctly answer a time-limited skill-testing question. Upon correctly answering that question, the potential winner will be declared the winner and, within the time specified by the Sponsors, the winner and his/her guest must complete and return to the Sponsors a Contest eligibility and liability/publicity release confirming compliance with these rules and regulations, releasing the Sponsors and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from all liability and, except where prohibited by law, permitting the Sponsors to use the selected entrant’s and guest’s name, address (city and province), likeness, voice, written statements and image, without compensation, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media now known or hereafter devised, including the Internet, in any publicity carried out by the Sponsors. The potential winner and his/her accompanying guest must also provide proof of identity (photocopy of Driver’s License, Passport or any other government-issued photo identification). In the event that a potential winner is not eligible for any reason, such potential winner shall be disqualified and the Sponsors shall have the right to select another potential winner and the Sponsors shall be released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard. No correspondence will be made except with the potential winner(s).
By entering the Contest, entrants agree to abide by these rules and regulations, and further agree that the decisions of the Sponsors are final. The Sponsors reserve the right at any time without prior notice to withdraw, cancel, terminate, amend, modify or suspend the Contest if for any reason in the opinion of the Sponsors, in their sole discretion, the Contest is not capable of operating as planned or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond their control. The Sponsors reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual they find to be tampering with the online entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these rules or otherwise in disruptive manner with respect to the Contest. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. The Sponsors also reserve the right to cancel this Contest at any time because of any printing or other error. The Sponsors do not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, seeding or printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software (including on account of traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site) or any combination thereof. The Sponsors shall not be liable for any errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest, including any injury or damage to the entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading of any materials relating to the Contest or any theft, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries submitted online. The Sponsors are not liable for injuries, death, damages or losses of any kind resulting from acceptance or use of the Prizes. In the event of a dispute, entries submitted online will be deemed to have been made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. “Authorized account holder” means the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.

The name of the Prize winner will be announced on-air during the Contest Period.

This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.
