Last night SNL had some holiday-themed sketches, including an It’s A Wonderful Life themed sketch, pondering what the world would be like if a certain *ahem* president had never been elected.
But one that definitely resonated fans of Weezer’s music (and Rivers Cuomo), was a sketch that laid out a wholesome scene of dinner with the neighbours. The song playing in the background turns to Weezer’s cover of Africa, where Leslie Jones and Matt Damon start arguing over what constitutes as a *real* fan of Weezer.
“I’m just confused because real Weezer fans know that they haven’t had a good album since Pinkerton in 1996.”
It also sounds like Rivers Cuomo was excited about the sketch.
The sketch is hilarious, you can catch clips here.
